OK, you have probably watched it.
During the April Fools' Day of 2015, I released a very special
moveset claiming to be the “Best I've Ever Made”, which resulted
to be just a plush toy of Pichu. This moveset was made bad in
propose, but not just bad. In this video, I decided to make the
moveset using common mistakes that Lawlers have in my opinion. Not
only from bad movesets, I've also included bad stuff that good
movesets have. I've even added some of my mistakes from my older
videos! This article will explain everything that I kept in mind
while I was making this moveset as bad as I could.
First of all, the idea of a moveset bad
in propose was inspired by two movesets: Uffe the Ghost and Keygen.
Uffe the Ghost, from the Text Lawl “Super ARC Bros Brawl” is what
its creator called a Mock Moveset. He tried to make a really bad
moveset for a character that doesn't even exist, having the infamous
Lawl Ultimate as his inspiration to make it. Keygen, by Aitor Molina,
had a similar purpose. However, the moveset was more focused on
having a really bad character rather than making a bad moveset. As a
fusion of both ideas, I got the idea of making a really bad moveset
for a really bad character, but unlike ARC and Aitor Molina, as an
April Fools Prank.
Now, let's talk about the character
itself: Plush Pichu. How did I managed to have such a horrible idea
for a character? Well, it wasn't always like that. This was
originally going to be a moveset for Solid Snake. Please don't kill
me. Yes, after the roster of SSB4 was released, a lot of people was
complaining of the lack of one of the Third Party Characters from
Brawl: Snake, who was also the only character from a Rated M game in
Smash Bros. Now, while I think there are good reasons to want Snake
back, I was fearing that since Snake wasn't going to return in Smash,
people will start to suggest him in Lawl. This is because
Chincherrinas always adds a Snake Codec as an extra ever since the
beginning, and has continued doing this even when Lawl removed the
original Brawl cast. But I didn't agree with them because, well,
Snake already has a moveset, and he could return. Imagine if someone
did it with Mewtwo. However, I thought that this would offend fans of
Snake and even MGS fans from my fanbase, so I decided to change Snake
by a new character. And that was Plush Snake, which would also have
been a satire of movesets for Plush toys (like Plush Mario). Then
Chincherrinas made Snake canon as Codec Snake, which is literally
Snake's mugshot from the codecs from Brawl and MGS1. People loved
this idea. I still don't like it at all, but decided to make the
April Fools character not Snake-related. Because if not, my fans
could have taken it as a direct jab at Chincherrinas himself. And I
didn't want that.
So, I had to change the character. Who
could it be? Well, my first idea was Master Hand. What's worse than
having a character that has already been in Smash Bros? A boss that
was created for Smash Bros! And has been a boss since SSB64! Besides
that, it's a shout out to another Prank by the user DavuuWart that he
did during El Día de los Inocentes (Inocents' Day, Spain's
equivalent to April Fools, which is in December 28th). He
made an animation based on Smash Bros which was a poorly animated
story about Mario and his “friends” fighting Master Hand. His
Final Smash was going to be flipping the bird like in that animation.
However, Aitor suggested me “Plush Greninja”, and I had the
ultimate bad Smash Bros character: Plush Pichu. This is everything
wrong with him:
-He comes from a franchise that's
already in Smash Bros, which is some kind of Taboo for my Lawl, and
definitely not the greatest choices (unless they're alternative
versions like the CD-i). It's even worse considering that Pichu
already has a moveset (believe it or not, I have found a moveset for
Princess Peach).
-He's a character that has been
removed. So the moveset will have instant likes from Sakurai haters.
Personally, that's pretty much Codec Snake purpose.
-He's a Pokémon. Ever since Smash
Lawler made Diglett, a lot of people decided to make Pokémon
movesets because “Smash Lawler (nowadays known as Kirb-Star) made Diglett, so I can make (Insert
Pokémon)!”.
-He's a non-joke remake of a Joke
Character. Did you know that somebody suggested YTPGuy to make a
Non-Joke Irate Gamer? You're probably as shocked as I was. It even
got to the Empty Slot 3.
-And finally, it's a plush toy. I
already mentioned why that's bad.
With this said, I also wanted to make a
Roster at the beginning with other characters I'd hate to see in a
Lawl game. All of them with explanations:
-Boshi: Minor character from a Smash
Bros franchise. It's always annoying for me. That's why we have
Smash, or fangames.
-Beared Robin Williams: A different
version of a character that has little to no difference to the
original, or less moveset potential. Sonic X characters and Simon and
Marcy from Adventure Time come to my mind.
-Toon Greninja: Same as Williams. Plus,
another Pokémon.
-Amy Rose: The face of the most
infamous Lawler ever.
-The Motherf*cking Snakes: This was
during the Snake/Plush Snake era. I added three more Snakes to the
Roster: Box Snake, Snake on a Plane and Snake (The Simpsons). When
the moveset was changed to Pichu, it wasn't as funny, but I still
kept them. By the way, Snake from The Simpsons is the only character
from Lawl Noba that I could make official.
-PSX Mina: Same as Williams, as well as
a fighting game character. Also an example of “Liking a character
doesn't mean he/she fits in Lawl”. Yep, Seung Mina is my main in
Soul Calibur.
-Fulgore: Found in a surprising amount
of Rosters, and a fighting game character.
-The Fat/Oliver Hardy: Separating an
obvious choice for a Tag Team.
-Young Anakin: Again, like Williams.
-Heinous Rose and Spelunker: These two
are just personal. I hate both Heinoustuck and Spelunker Sensei so
much that they don't even deserve a moveset. Professor Spelunker will
be the new Sandbag, though.
-Modern SpongeBob: Same as Williams,
and a poor excuse for a Joke Moveset.
-Squeegee: It's just stupid.
-Wun: Some people want my characters in
Lawl, there you go!
-Sacha Scar: From a Spin Off that
wasn't very good, it's a character that isn't that good. Plus, too
similar to Scar.
-Killager/Rule 34 Wii Fit Trainer:
Aitor suggested them because he considered them for his game and
recognised that they were very bad ideas.
-Johnny Test: He doesn't appear on the
Roster, but decided to add him suffering Pichu's Final Smash. Why?
Just search “Johnny Test Death”. Cry.
With the Roster done, it is time to
work on the Moveset itself. Before it starts, we have the opening,
which is just a bad parody of Pac-Man's trailer. This is based on
Marcianito's Trailer, some dude who made a parody of Smash Bros with
a 3D animated gif of an alien, ripping off other parodies like the
Crash Leak or some trailers for Shrek. Then the Roster, which is
shown during a very small period of time and the moveset begins.
The song is the DK Rap from Super Smash
Bros Melee, a song that has nothing to do with Pichu and doesn't even
fit. What's next? Nathan Drake with JonTron's Theme? Well, it
happened. It's actually the reason why I made this. The first part is
the intro, which is just falling from the Sky. It has an inspiration
clip, which is something bad for me. I mean, some characters have
inspiration clips on their entrances, while others don't? The
Inspiration Clip is that scene from the SSB64 intro where Pikachu
falls, and that's why the entrance is called 64 Fall. This is based
on Banjo and Kazooie's moveset, where the entrance is called “Trailer
Door” because Banjo comes out from a door from a trailer from one
of the Lawler's videos. Oh, and this entrance is seen in Poké-Floats.
As much as I like Melee stages, this one was a big stretch. Specially
considering the interesting locations from the Pokémon games.
His Neutral B is called Electric, and
it's just a basic projectile. You can easily see movesets where
characters have a basic projectile with no special effects at all,
most of the times as the Neutral B. It also parodies the fact that
some movesets just mention how much damage an attack does instead of
showing it in the HUD. I wanted to use the Inspiration Clip from
Melee, but I couldn't find it so I used a scene from the Pikachu and
Pichu short film. The stage is Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. I don't need
to explain why.
His Side B (or Side+B) it's Dark Pit's
Electric Arm. Yes, I didn't call it Electroshock. This is where the
set just forgets it's about Pichu, and sadly that often happens. Some
movesets just don't care about the character and add random attacks.
Wanna see the biggest example? Toon Moblin from Collaterale1. That
one was a big mess. Anyways, this attack was chosen because both Dark
Pit and Pichu are clones hated by the fanbase and also because I
wanted to add a move that's inspired by other, but reduces it to be
more generic. Classic Sonic, for example, had Kirby's Beam
Hability... for some reason. However, instead of using a Whip that
turns into a beam if it's charged, it was just a chargable
projectile. Even worse, compared it with the Mega Buster, and this
set was made before Smash 4. This time, Electroshock is just a simple
punch, which is also common in bad movesets. The Stage is a Pokémon
battle. Just look at it to see how bad it is.
His Up B is Eleport. This move is a
regular Teleport move. I wasn't sure if I should have put a simple
Jump or a teleport, but I went with the Teleport. There isn't much to
say, just more reference to the Mega Buster Beam with the fact that
the Inspiration Clip shows Zelda, but the description mentions
Mewtwo. This scene is the one with more charaters on it, even if
Pichu doesn't even attack any of them. The stage is the LJN logo. Did
you know that there's a cult following of logos on the Internet?
Sounds as weird as you think, and Lawl has been contagied with it.
His Down B is Pichu's Tornado,
misspelled as Pich' Tornado. This move is identical to Dr. Mario's
Tornado. An example of just ripping off an attack with no changes at
all. I also think that Dr. Mario's Tornado is a bit overrated. People
already say that Dr. Mario is the best clone and better than Mario
just because of this tornado. The stage is... the sky. Yeah, go
figure.
And his Final Smash is Wombo Combo.
This is less of a Lawl problem and more of a Smash problem: Final
Smashes that are just the character grabbing the opponent, do some
cool attacks, and finish the move with a strong attack. There are
many attacks that look like that, and Crusade is even worse. My
friends and I usually call this attacks the “combos”, so which
better Combo than the Wombo Combo? And to make it worse, I added the
entire moment in the video. Because we need that, right Konata/Toon K
Rool? Oh, and I added it again as the Inspiration Clip. You're
Welcome. This move also mentions that Pichu wins if he manages to
catch an opponent. Just to make him overpowered compared to the Joke
Moveset from Melee. The stage is a trophy stand. It doesn't really
look as bad as the other stages.
With the attacks done, now it is time
for the KO's and Taunts, right? Nah, let's forget about those like
other Lawlers and move on to the Victory Poses. They're directly
ripped off from Melee with a small diference. Now, the song has been
changed to the Pichu & Pichu theme from Pokémon Channel. Oh, the
Nostalgia... Anyways, this song is a parody of individual Victory
Themes. You know those. It began with Meta Knight, and now people
want a song for every character. I find that bad. I mean, a victory
theme per franchise is fine, both in Lawl and Smash. The only
exception I'll make is characters from Disney, since they technically
come from different universes. Not to mention that individual victory
themes are often too fetched. The song also has lyrics, which is also
something I always try to avoid. It just sounds weird to hear someone
singing as well as the character speaking.
After that, the Non-Snake Codec. I
mean, the Red Leo Media. Using the color errors from Doof's moveset,
speaking with Text-To-Speech, and having random characters
introducing themselves. Well, that last part is a parody of Loquendo
videos (Loquendo is a Text-to-Speech program). They also say that
Pichu has no weaknesses, another shown of his overpoweredness, and
use Comic Sans as well as bad Grammar. In fact, the whole moveset has
really bad grammar, like most of bad movesets. Pichu joins the Bottle
is the one I put the most efford in. Lol
There are some other details about the
moveset. Like Bandicam. Some people didn't like that in my movesets
(until Timmy's Dad) the water mark was seen, so I added it here as a
reminder of what I did wrong. Even during the Inspiration Clips,
which also had errors. The one for the Neutral B showed Chrome's
Resource bar, Down B's had Bandicam's window seen, Side B has a small
moment where the video is still loading, and of course, Up B not only
had Etika, but also showed me looking for the part where Zelda uses
her Up B. Another thing is the Characters' icons. They're the logos
of where there are from, and not even colored. This is so common,
even Chincherrinas does it (he at least colors the logos). With Boshi
I take one step further, having the Super Mario RPG logo, instead of
just the Mario logo (or the Mushroom). I saw this on Shadow's
moveset. I also originally going to add a description talking about
the “reasons” to add Pichu, but scrapped it because it would ruin
the surprise. After rewatching the Moveset Intro, I thought it would
much better if fans were like “Who is it going to be?”, and then
“PICHU!”. Most of what I was going to say is what I have
explained here, only explained as good arguments. There's one thing I
didn't say at all. I was originally going to mention that he's a
plush toy because I don't have Sony Vegas. I hate this excuse, it's
like saying that you can't draw because you don't have a pencil, even
if you have a pen. Look, I don't have Sony Vegas. YTPGuy doesn't have
it. Agito doesn't have it. And we still are able to make good
movesets, or at least is what you, my fanbase, think.
Well, that's all folks. Hope you
enjoyed the Worst Moveset Ever.
Interesante transfondo para el moveset.
ResponderEliminarThough, there some things I'd like to discuss:
1- The reason I added Missingno and Diglett to my Lawl was because (besides it being one of my favorite nintendo franchises) I wanted to add someone from that franchise but had absolutely zero chanes of getting in Smash. Then I remembered the glitch PKMNs, then the "Diglett Underground" meme (pretty much all the crazy theories of what's under a Diglett) and added them as a joke I'll admit, things got out of hand when I added Gardevoir, she was actually an aftertought until I realized I had barely any female characters in the game, so I rushed and added her. Out of all the movesets that were gonna come out right after Diglett's (Doof, King Koopa & Gardevoir) she was the one with the most progress on here. Come the cancellation of the series in 2015. I'll admit she was a bad idea, and was merely added because she could offer a more straight forward moveset than my other characters.
2- Friendly reminder that I changed my name to Kirb-Star long ago, Smash Lawler was such a stupid name that I needed to change it. So please, I request you to call me by my current username.
3- Codec Snake is best waifu. Nah, he's definitely a bad character alone, although chin compensated it by giving him a somewhat unique moveset. Just try not to throw so much shit at him next time, kay? That's not gonna make a difference.
#Kirb-Star. (Ignora la firma, plox. Eso lo puse como en el 2011)
1. Yeah, at least you tried to justify Digglet's inclusion with the Underground memes. The rest just said that their Favourite Pokémon was valid because you already made one.
Eliminar2. I can edit it if you want.
3. I still don't understand why hating on Carlos Trejo and Aya (and Logan Jones) is cool, but it's bad when it's Codec Snake.
I'll honestly admit that I made a stupid mistake when I suggested for "Modern Spongebob" for your Lawl. I originally got that idea from one of the Lawl wikiseries that had a moveset like that, but it was still a bad idea.
